Mark founded Firehouse in 1997 with the belief that there was a better way to serve clients’ advertising needs. A belief that an agency should focus on building a brand as intently as driving sales. Following that belief has allowed Mark to lead Firehouse out of its original headquarters (his sunroom) and into the boardrooms of numerous nationally respected brands. Today, in keeping with his role as President, he constantly searches for ways to increase the agency’s ability to have the most profound impact on our clients’ businesses.

Before deciding to branch out on his own, Mark began his career at The Richards Group. There, he completed their renowned account management training program and continued on to lead the brand advertising efforts for Aetna Health Plans and ABF Freight. After a stint at Omnicom's Focus Agency – where he managed the voice and data product offerings of GTE – Mark returned to The Richards Group, where he immersed himself in the disciplines of trade and consumer promotion. He quickly became known for his obsession with generating measurable results for key client and beverage leader Cadbury Schweppes with their Dr Pepper and 7UP brands.

Now he is on a mission to continually enhance the brand-building quality of the work Firehouse creates for its clients, an effort that he hopes will redefine the way clients think about developing enduring and distinctive brands while generating immediate results.

A former University of Texas basketball player, Mark is working to pass on his love of the game to the next generation. He coaches a junior high school basketball team, as well as an assortment of basketball and baseball teams for his own children.

When he takes a break from his coaching duties both inside and outside the office, you’ll likely find Mark heading out for a round of golf or an occasional trip to the slopes with his wife Susan and their three children, Molly, Jack and Chet.
